Christmas Break!

Christmas Break for us is always a time filled with many memories. When we're not practicing or lifting, we come up with a ton of different ways to entertain ourselves, since we are usually the only people left on campus!

One of the things we love to do, especially over break, is cook and bake. We are always finding new recipes on Pinterest that we want to try. We make Christmas cookies, banana bread, rice krispie treats, and more. We’ve also tried some new things like sopa pia cheesecake - compliments of Reagan.

Our desserts don’t always end up as desserts, though. One time we were decorating for Christmas (one of our other favorite things to do!) and making frosted sugar cookies. The icing did not make it to the cookies, though! We ended up having an icing war, and in the end we were covered in chocolate icing.

We make more then just desserts though too. Our new favorite dinner this year is creamy tacos - compliments of Emily! We also make things like quesadillas, lasagna, enchiladas, breakfast for dinner, and more.

We also like to fill our time with movies at the dorm and dollar theater. I think this year, the favorite movie is Pitch Perfect. I know some of us have seen it maybe one too many times…..6, and even 8 times, but who’s counting?!

In between practice, baking, and movies, we also love to play games. We’ve played games like Evolution, card games, charades, and Cranium. We have even made up a couple games involving animal crackers. All you have to do it act out the animal and eat as many animal crackers as you can. Katelyn and Ellee are especially good at that one! Whatever game we play, we always end up laughing.

Every year we have a team Christmas party at Coach Green’s. We always get delicious food, and lots of laughs. This year in our White Elephant gift exchange there were so many nice things to choose from, that everyone wanted to steal each others' gifts. It made for a fun game and a lot of laughs.

If we still have some free time after all of that, I am sure that you could find us either playing Just Dance, or having a dance party in our rooms. I won’t name any names, but we have some people on our team who can really dance, even though they try to hide it!  ...Needless to say, although we are some of the few people on campus over Christmas break, we always find ways to have fun, and make memories.

Go Flames!
