Hi All,
My name is Kennedi Williams and I am a freshman. I am from Atlanta, Georgia and I’ve been playing basketball for as long as I remember. Today I wanted to tell you about transitioning into my freshman year, but first here’s some background.
Like I said before I am from Atlanta, and I am the youngest in my family. I have three older brothers, the one directly older than me plays basketball but the others stopped after church league didn’t work out. Playing with my brothers and my dad taught me what I know today. My mom wanted me to be a dancer first but soon came around to my desire to play basketball. I continued with basketball playing in middle school, high school and AAU.
After committing to Liberty University, I was excited yet nervous to start my new journey. I didn’t really know what to expect coming into a new school. I heard a lot of things about Summer Bridge, but I still didn’t know what to think.
It turned out to be a summer I’ll never forget. In the summer, we made unforgettable memories and I met the people I spend the most time with now. We spent a lot of nights outside our dorms at the picnic tables just talking, making music, and playing games. We always had a good time. This summer allowed me to make some true friendships. The team was welcoming to us freshman and newcomers, they made us really feel at home. It also helped me have a smooth transition into my freshman year, because we had classes in June and July, which showed me what to expect when the fall semester started. It really made taking the step from high school to college so much easier and now that it's the second semester already, I feel like I'm getting the hang of all of this!

Don't Wake Me Up
Hello everyone it’s me again, Melat Sissay aka Queen M and guess what? I am baaaack! Can I get an Amen… “Amen.” I am sure you guys have missed me since my last blog.
Today, I am going to talk about why I am not the best person to approach in the morning. I strongly dislike when I have to wake up for some sort of mandatory activity. For example, waking up for an early class, or for our basketball workouts, and especially having to put my seat in the upright position on the plane. I get highly upset every time I have to set an alarm to wake up and do something.
I am a heavy sleeper, which means I have to set five to six alarms to go off every five minutes in the morning and if they doesn’t work, it's over. I usually sleep though the first 3 alarms before I press snooze. After the fifth, sometimes sixth alarm, I finally get up. If you do not believe me, ask Bridgette, since we were roommates last year.
I do not know why, but after 20 years on this earth, I now believe I automatically wake up mad at everything and everyone. Now, you guys probably think I am crazy, and it is okay if you do, because I would think the same if I was in your shoes. If you know me, you know I am not a morning person. With that being said, I do NOT like to interact with people in the morning, or any time shortly after I wake up for that matter. Oftentimes people find me mean or bitter when they try to have a conversation with me right after I wake up. To avoid this, I try my best to be unapproachable so people won’t start a conversation with me, but sometimes when it still happens I try my best to be nice and finish the conversation as fast as I can so I can walk away.
With that being said, I am not the person you would want to approach right after I wake up. Besides that, you guys already know I am a super happy and fun person to be around with so I hope I did not scare you by sharing this.
Do not forget to like and subscribe to my blog. If you have any questions regarding my bitterness I would love to answer them at any time.
Till next time, Go Flames!

Bridgette vs Ashtyn: Round 2
Hi All,
This time all of the questions are about Ashtyn. I answered them first about her and then she gave the correct answers. What is funny is that it was actually easier for me to answer these questions about her than it was to answer them for myself last week. I had such a hard time making up my mind about my own answers, but Ashtyn is pretty easy to pinpoint. Not that that means I will beat her score of 44 from last week, but I am hoping to!
39?! Come on! I thought I would do better. Better luck next time, I guess. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed learning about Ashtyn and I and the friendship we have! Liberty Basketball and life in general would not be the same experience for me without her!

Ashtyn vs Bridgette: Round 1
Hi All,
Bridgette and I decided to switch things up for our blogs and interview each other to see who knows who better. We have been teammates and friends for three years, spending countless hours together in the gym, on road trips, and just hanging around Liberty. This year we are roommates off-campus as well. Therefore, you'd think we know each other pretty well.
This is the first round of two rounds. In this round, all of the questions are about Bridgette. I answered them first about her and then she gave the correct answers. The points were awarded by an independent party (our director of operations). May the best woman win!

Well, as you can see, I got 44 of a possible 95 points. On Liberty's grading scale, I think that's failing...but, it still may be good enough to beat Bridgette. Check back next week for Round 2!
